Doc Rat Collection #12

Doc Rat Collection #12 published on

Paperback book. 110 pages.

It Hurts To Swallow, Doc

The collected Doc Rat webcomic strips from June 2012 to March 2013. (DR-1559 – DR-1758)

Larger book. Contains a long story. There’s the usual passing parade of rib-tickling cases, including trouble with snakes, a tribute to the Olympic Games and Ben’s fever-dream visit to Aaron Neathery’s Endtown. Then it starts to become apparent the life is not running smoothly in the numbat household. Lily is sick, Shirl is depressed, Jarrad is getting into mischief and Braydon has shot through. Time for Ben to start playing detective – track down Braydon and rescue him from the cold-blooded citizen intent of eating him under the tortuous legal rules of predator and prey. It seems to be a happy ending… But just when you think the story is over, it comes back to bite you!

What people say about Doc Rat Collection #12

There are few anthropomorphic comic strips that go into the details of a well-thought-out multispecies predator-and-prey talking-animal city… Doc Rat has become one of the best.
Flayrah, Fred Patten
Perceptive and often hilarious … a genuine original with fine draughtsmanship, a gallery of endearing characters and a rollicking sense of fun: A Doc Rat a Day Keeps the Blues Away.
Lee Harding, author
Doc Rat is a strip that stands at a fascinating and compelling crossroads. Part comedy, part drama… certainly part tragedy… and permeated throughout with a fearless humanism. It’s unflinching in its willingness to face the darkness, but forever eager to embrace the light. It’s very warm… and very special… and most importantly, very, very real.
Aaron Neathery (Endtown)
